The
Story Behind Steps for Hope

It started with a simple question on the way to school.

Two kids in the back seat, a father in the front, and a story about his own walk to class — barefoot, dusty roads, and long mornings in rural Kenya.

He told them how his father couldn’t afford shoes. How he still walked to learn, to dream, and to pray that one day life might look different.

Years later, God answered that prayer.
Through His grace, that boy, now a man, built a life in America. He worked hard, raised a family, and saw doors open that his parents could never have imagined.

But God’s story of grace doesn’t end with one person’s success.
Grace always moves. It gives back. It returns to lift others.

That’s why Steps for Hope exists, to give children in Kenya what their parents couldn’t afford, and to remind them that they, too, walk under the care of a faithful God.

Every pair of shoes is a symbol: not of wealth, but of worth.
A reminder that the same God who ordered one man’s steps from barefoot roads to blessed ground is still guiding every step today — theirs included.
